That is where the first engagement was planned. The practice has grown a little since. The table is still there.

01 / how it started

the job came first. the manual never did.

Nobody hands you a manual for week one. They hand you a laptop and a calendar. / the sentence behind the practice

Sibyl & Stone began with a pattern. Founders and newly promoted VPs would call in month two or three, already carrying a decision they could not say out loud, and usually a version of the same question: how am I landing?

Existing options were open-ended retainers that ran for a year, or a one-off workshop that ended before the work did. We wanted something with a start, an end, and an object at the finish.

So the engagement is six weeks. A 360 assessment, three one-hour video sessions two weeks apart, and a written 90-day plan in the client’s own phrasing. The fee is written down before kickoff and billed in two invoices. When the plan is handed over, we stop.

The office is at 11 Sexton Dr in West Islip. Most sessions happen on video. Some clients come by once, to see where the plan was typed up.

02 / house rules

three things we do, three things we don’t

  • we keep raters anonymous

The 360 report goes to you. Names stay with us unless a rater asks to be named, and then only to you.

not: forwarding the report to your manager “for context.”

  • we write the plan in your words

If you would never say “leverage synergies,” neither will your plan. You have to be able to read it aloud to your team.

not: a template with your company name pasted in.

  • we stop at week six

The engagement ends when the plan is handed over. A day-90 check-in is available for $390 if you want one.

not: a quiet renewal, an auto-billed retainer, or a follow-up pitch.

03 / is this for you

who we’re a fit for, and who we aren’t

a good fit

  • A first-time founder with a team of five or more and no one to ask.
  • A newly promoted VP, in the first six months of the role.
  • Someone willing to read hard feedback twice before reacting.
  • Someone with roughly forty-five minutes between sessions.

probably not

  • You want a year-long retainer.
  • You want your manager to pick the topics.
  • You want praise in a nicer font.
